At the beginning of November 1992 we brought the premises recently vacated by solicitors. Three weeks later Perspective was born.
This is the beginning of many happy years in Woodstock. We did not get the premises surveyed as it was 300 years old and assumed the surveyor would find so many things wrong that it would put us off.

The Hall was filled with pictures and each morning they were lop sided. I assumed we had subsidence.
It was sometime later I went into the cellar for some stock when an over riding smell of roses wafted over me.
The smell often happened making me think it could be a sprit in the premises, I asked whomever it was to stop giving me work every morning.

The following day the pictures were upright, Looking into the history of the building I discovered Miss Budd died in the front room. She was quite a forceful personality and contributed to many events in Woodstock.

I and some of my tenants have seen her. It is good that she is still checking on us and making her presence feel odd at times.

We have done many alterations to the building discovering many alcoves and fireplaces.
The 2nd phase of development discovered a well in the back yard, which is now back to its former quality.
The yard now has a lot of engineering bricks in the path which all came out of the well.

I have gathered a rare mix of young and not so young girls over the years to serve you.
Jodie, who is looking after this website, joined me in 1995 as a Saturday girl and now is part of the furniture!

Gilly came in eleven years ago to buy a card and decided I needed her frequent guidance and energy and by do I need it!!

Sandra "subbed" for her daughter ten years ago, and skipped into a permanent post, as we needed her stock organising and display qualities.

Jackie arrived nine years ago, can't even remembered how or why, she was my saviour in our children's section.

Julia used to drop in during frequent visits for her bad back. She decided it could be improved by standing all day so 8 years ago she joined us.

Juliet was a Sunday girl & has been brilliantly filling in when holiday or sickness hits. In the 5yrs she has become an expert in semi precious stones, which we sell.

Prill fancied joining us for years, when it became possible she leapt at the chance. She joined us in 2005. She is our real mother hen, every shop should have one!

The last arrival is Nickie (Jodie's sister in law) she joined us a year ago and works on a Saturday. Having 2 young children she is able to relate with the young mums and their needs.

Then there is me! "Irene" I have always owned shops from my early twenty's ending up in Woodstock, what better place could there be?
This shop is different it is more of a club/sanctuary as we share the highs & lows of our customers lives from newborn babies to octogenarian - far too twee!
